WTV

Code-built 3D & 2D motion.

Overview

MadeMotion bumpers for WhoJiggi TV, a music show that turns the MTV logo upside down.
NeedA show that drops new shorts every few weeks needs idents in every video size, and they all have to feel like one channel.
ValueNew bumpers come out of two tools I coded, in any size, and they always look like one channel.

Hand-animating every bumper is slow, and each new format means starting over. A series made by hand also drifts from piece to piece.

So I built two tools instead of animating by hand.

ShapesA 3D tool. A field of rotating shapes, from cubes to stars and triangles, with color presets, motion methods and adjustable cameras.
SlotsA 2D slot machine. Pattern reels land on the logo; you pick the winning color, and the ending adds one random color from the same palette.

Both adapt to any video size.

I designed the motion system and coded both tools.

Motion design & creative coding: Yutong Hu
Client & sound design: WhoJiggi

Code is logic-driven. I set the rules first, and everything made afterward stays inside the system. That's why I chose AI coding over generative AI here: motion and camera are parameters I control.

All the patterns of ending scene are randomized and generated by prompt.

Behind the scene, 3D tools has different color presets and motion methods.

Slot Machine shares the same color preset and you can choose the winning color each time, the ending will be winning color + 1 random color from color platte, you also can choose the patterns from preset.
